Portsmouth College is using PureMessage, the consolidated anti-spam and anti-virus solution from Sophos, to protect its network and 4,500 end-users from spam e-mails, viruses, worms and trojans. 

Unhappy with its previous solution, an open-source package which had proved too difficult to configure, Portsmouth chose PureMessage's hassle-free automatic updates to root out spam and to keep updated.

"With our previous anti-spam filter, updating was a nightmare, but with PureMessage someone else worries about that and our system is updated every hour," said Brian Chivers, Portsmouth College ICT support officer.
