The solution is designed for Nokia Series 60 and Nokia Series 80 devices, starting with the Nokia 9500 Communicator.
“Security is a key enabler for business mobility,” said Panu Kuusisto, director, alliances at Nokia Enterprise Solutions.
“As devices become increasingly sophisticated and more company-sensitive information is stored on them, it is vital to bring the same level of security to mobile devices as currently exists on wired IT devices such as laptops.”
“Mobility significantly boosts employee productivity and the capabilities of the real-time enterprise, but it also creates new security and management challenges,” commented Stephen Drake, analyst at IDC.
Peter Larsson, Pointsec president and chief executive, added, “This system offers not only powerful real-time data encryption, but also unique PicturePIN user authentication that ensures data will not be accessed by unauthorised individuals.”
