The ClipDrive Bio includes a scanner that scanner stores users’ fingerprints, which then has to be placed on a reader whenever the data needs to be accessed. All data can be encrypted on a partitioned section of the device for extra security.
ClipDrive Bio plugs into USB drives of portable devices and can store up to 2Gb of data – more than enough for any sensitive presentations or spreadsheets.
Eric Churet, European sales and marketing director at Memory Experts International, says the ClipDrive Bio could also be used as a biometric access tool to control access on desktop PCs to guard a corporate Lan, as well as controlling access to portable devices.
Data is copied from a PC to the device at around 1.7Mb per second. More details can be found at www.clipdrive.com.
