Workshops for female IT professionals

Workshops for female IT professionals

Workshops aimed at helping women develop their IT careers are to be held in May in London and Edinburgh.

BCS and Equalitec, an organisation that provides career support for female technology staff, are running two one-day workshops in London targeted at women returning to work after a career break.

The first, on 4 May, will focus on working in online information and news delivery. BBC and Google will give presentations. The second, on 23 May, will focus on health informatics and medical imaging, with speakers from Fujitsu, Kodak and the NHS. The events are free of charge but places are limited and registration is compulsory.

In Edinburgh, BCSWomen is running a career development workshop at the WWW2006 conference on 22 May.
