Microsoft scales back its ambitions for Longhorn OS

Microsoft has kept delivery of the Longhorn operating system (OS) on track for 2006 by dropping the major WinFS component. Standardize PCs on Windows XP Service Pack (SP) 2 to get the best options when Longhorn finally appears.
