Business Objects' recent acquisition of Acta is another example of the trend within business intelligence vendors to offer complete end-to-end solutions. While the 1990s were full of "marketing" partnerships that meant little more than the paper the press release was written on, the 2000s have seen a number of acquisitions and new products that have changed the traditional landscape of business intelligence.
