The shortlist of the leading candidates for the Computer Weekly Best Places to Work in IT 2006 Awards is revealed today.

Public and private sector organisations from across the board of UK employers have competed for a place on the shortlist, demonstrating their commitment to key factors in creating an enlightened and stimulating workplace.

The judges' selection was made on criteria such as effective team building, strong training and career development opportunities, work/life balance and equal opportunities.

The final winners will be announced at a gala awards luncheon at the Park Lane Hotel, London on Wednesday 1 March.
