This very early alphametic is thought to have been sent
by an impecunious undergraduate, when writing to his father in
Victorian times, and is probably the most famous puzzle of its
type. The student writes: "Dear Pater, I have spent all my
allowance... please see below!"

Your problem is to discover which digit has been concealed by
which letter of the alphabet to make the sum work. There are eight
