Bandwidth at Wimbledon is being given a boost with a new bespoke
Ethernet network system from Exponential-e.
The All England Lawn Tennis Club has deployed the Powerserve
Internet system from Exponential-e.
The Ethernet-over-fibre solution enables the All England Lawn
Tennis Club to quickly and easily flex the bandwidth it has
available at different times of the year - with maximum bandwidth
made available for the annual Championship.
Exponential-e worked closely with the All England Lawn Tennis
Club's voice and data systems consultancy MAC Systems during the
planning, design and implementation stages of the overall project,
to ensure that all of the challenges were met in time for this
year's Championship.
Exponential-e's Powerserve Internet system is equipped with
Route 1 intelligent IP management, which dynamically samples the
traffic of five tier one providers and sends data via the fastest
route available at any given time.
Jeff Lucas, IT director for the All England Lawn Tennis Club,
said, "We always try to ensure that we have sufficient bandwidth
capacity to support our media. We have gradually increased this
over the years but felt we needed to make a step change for 2008.
Exponential-e's highly flexible network and its tailored costs
enabled us to do that."
