Education charity CfBT Education
Trust is to use a fully managed
internet protocol virtual private network (IPVPN) to connect 30
UK and 150 worldwide sites.
The network, from Thus, will
run voice and data, internet access and
IP telephony for 1800 users over a multi-protocol label
switching (MPLS) IPVPN. The network will allow staff to work
remotely using mobile, Blackberry and 3G datacards.
The network will cut staff travel and internal communication
costs. It will also improve management of network capacity and give
greater visibility and control of telecoms costs.
Andrew Terry, head of ICT services at CfBT, said as the
education charity operated in multiple locations, it needed a
robust and efficient telecommunications systems. "The
infrastructure Thus will provide will enable us to deliver
