Almost 90% of typical enterprise applications might have compatibility issues deployed in a virtualised environment.

Changebase AOK, which provides an automated application compatibility tool, tested 100 applications often used in enterprises, and found 87% might pose problems in a virtualised environment.

From the sample, 38 had compatibility issues that would prevent them from being virtualised at all. Issues such as non-supported network updates, service installations, drivers and DSN settings prevented their virtualisation.

A further 49 could be virtualised with some remedial work, and the remaining 13 applications raised no issues.
