Topic: Achieving Business Flexibility in SMBs
using SOA
Time: 11.00am
Date: Live Wednesday 21 February 2007
Duration: 60 minutes
Description:
The vast majority of industry experts predict that the adoption
of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) will grow rapidly over the
coming year. It’s not surprising why. In essence SOA is an
effective way in which a company can integrate not only its diverse
applications suite but also the business tasks and processes it
carries out. The result is a more streamlined, flexible, adaptable,
and hence competitive and effective organisation.
For those who have already implemented SOA within their
organisation, satisfaction levels seem high; such companies point
out that not only have they experienced improvements in how their
business is run but they also expect to use more of it.
However, like most of the cutting edge business transformation
technologies in use today, a perception has grown that SOA is
really only applicable and appropriate in large enterprises and
that trying to establish SOA in small and medium sized businesses
(SMBs) is difficult, time consuming and with little discernible
benefit. Such a way of thinking is simply not true. This webinar
will aim to highlight just why SOA are wholly appropriate for
SMBs.
It will:
- Offer a precise definition of SOA
- Establish its relevance for SMBs
- Show how an SOA environment can be established within an
SMB
- Reveal the tangible business benefits and business flexibility
that the adoption of SOA can deliver
Format:
5 minute introduction followed by three 10-minute presentations
plus a 25/30- minute moderated Q&A session. Interactive polling
of the audience will be carried out throughout the event.
