With 70% of small businesses worriedthat they may be losing sensitive data via e-mail and surreptitious file transfers, software houseSophoshas addeddata leakageprotection to its suite of information security applications for small businesses.

A Sophos survey of 200 firms found that 70% were worried about sensitive information being leaked via e-mail and surreptitious file transfers, but in the past small businesses have struggled to find the resources to manage this problem effectively.

The new version of Sophos' latest small business product combines its latest anti-virus, firewall and e-mail security to reduce the cost of protecting Windows and Mac computers, laptops and Microsoft Exchange e-mail servers.

It scans e-mail for malware, spam, suspicious attachments and offensive language, while also ensuring e-mail content adheres to company policies. This helps to monitor and stop internal communications and outbound e-mail dealing with customer or financial data in violation of security policies.
