Second Lifeis bringing a highly
skilled workforce from 45 countries to a jobs fair in Luxembourg
held by software maker Gax Technologies.
The
"Working
Worlds" event will be held on 28 November and has already
received 800 CVs from candidates who will have virtual
interviews.
Jobs fairs in second Life are a trend as businesses attempt to
reach a broad candidate base while increasing brand awareness in a
certain skills base.
Of the 800 candidates, 30% are from France with 11% of
candidates hailing from the UK, 9% from Poland and 8% from
Belgium.
Cornelia den Hartog, managing director of Gax Technologies,
said, "This new form of virtual recruitment gives international
professionals unparalleled access to Luxembourg, which has some of
Europe's highest wage levels and favourable taxation rates,
combined with a growing need to add to its skilled workforce."
