Oracle is acquiring Netsure Telecom to improve its offering in network intelligence and optimisation to service providers.

Netsure provides communications service providers critical network intelligence and analytics software.

Netsure's software has been deployed at tier one operators including Vodafone, Cable & Wireless, and Eircom.

"The addition of Netsure's products to Oracle's communications applications suite is expected to help Oracle's customers improve network utilisation, optimise capacity planning and financial modelling, and streamline end-to-end network lifecycle management," said Bhaskar Gorti, Oracle senior vice president and general manager.

"In conjunction with Oracle's enterprise resource planning, supply chain, inventory management and network discovery solutions, Oracle plans to provide service providers the ability to improve their network return on investment and increase their operational efficiency as they launch, deploy and profit from next-generation IP services," said Gorti.
