Standard Chartered Bank has signed a global network services contract with BT to improve the reliability of its communications.

The bank has operations in more than 50 countries. BT has been selected to supply international network services to Standard Chartered Bank in 16 countries, including the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, India and Malaysia.

BT is providing a highly resilient multi-protocol label switching-based network to help eliminate single points of failure and minimise risk globally.

The strategy is designed to guarantee the quality and availability of critical services that are used for access to centralised banking applications and systems in Standard Chartered's global datacentres and shared service centres.
