The global outsourcing community will converge on London next week for the annual Outsource World conference and exhibition.

The event, at London's Design Centre from 1 to 2 May, is designed to bring a strong dose of reality to the subject of outsourcing. Among the speakers will be Nigel Turnbull, chairman of the committee which produced the Turnbull Report on governance. He will be leading a debate on corporate governance.

Ieuan Griffiths, director of finance and strategy at the DVLA, will share his experience of government outsourcing, and IT services analyst Richard Holway will speak on "a new age of disruption".

The lawyer's view on outsourcing will be presented by Rachel Burnett, deputy president of the British Computer Society, in a session examining what makes a successful outsourcing contract.

The exhibition will also highlight a new book on outsourcing, Global Services: Moving To A Level Playing Field, published by the British Computer Society. Authors Richard Sykes, former global CIO of ICI, and Mark Kobayashi-Hillary, a leading authority on global outsourcing, will be discussing their work.
