Virgin Retailhas
brought the management and integration of its e-commerce platform
in-house in an effort to improve its online sales.
The privately owned retailer will call a halt to its outsourcing
relationship with Venda once its new e-commerce platform is ready
to go live at the end of the summer.
The company's IT director, Tony Johnson, said the sales
generated by its existing platform, which has been transactional
since 2002, were smaller than at other retailers.
The new platform will be integrated with Virgin's 15-year-old
JDA MMS merchandising system.
