Tuesday 07 November 2006 01:57

Microsoft has unveiled a set of tools for developers to build interactive applications for Windows Vista, Office 2007 and the web.

The new .net Framework 3.0, Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office 2007 and ASP.net Ajax are being made available for download, ahead of the release of Windows Vista to corporate users at the end of this month.

The new .net Framework 3.0 is accompanied by a set of Visual Studio 2005 extensions, designed to allow developers to build communication, workflow and online identity management applications that run on Vista.

The Office 2007 plug-in for Visual Studio 2005 Tools will enable developers to build scalable, line-of-business applications that tap the functionality of the new version of the Office productivity suite.

Microsoft also announced the launch of its Imagine Cup 2007 student technology competition and the worldwide rollout of its Microsoft Student Partners Programme.
