Systems integrator CSC is to recruit 100 technical
architects after it won contracts worth £2bn to provide systems to
the National Programme for IT (NPfIT) in North East England and the
East of England.
ReThink Recruitment’s founder director Andy Lord, who is
recruiting for CSC, said, “Quite a lot of people have implemented
complex strategies in their own organisations. Often they do not
realise that what they have done as an IT manager or director has
equipped them to be a technical architect.”
CSC already has work for all the technical architects that it
employs. It plans to recruit 100 more over the next 12 months to
work on both the NPfIT and to fill gaps on other projects that will
be created as it moves people on to the NHS contracts.
IT managers and directors at big technology users would make
good candidates for the new roles if they have gained experience of
implementing different technologies. CSC tends to recruit technical
architects with experience of Wintel, Unix and another
technology.
