Salesforce.com has launched a new version of its
on-demand customer relationship management product.
The release, dubbed Summer ’06, is available in Personal, Team,
Professional, Enterprise and Unlimited editions.
New features include AppExchange Mobile to support mobile and
remote working by sales staff and advanced call scripting to guide
staff as they deal with customers.
The update also offers lead history tracking, allowing managers
to track the changing status of leads from week to week, conduct
historical and trend analysis, and ensure audit trails and legal
compliance.
Alongside the new release, Salesforce has launched a new
Connector for SAP R/3, aimed at helping users integrate their CRM
data with the back-office SAP R/3 application, keeping all customer
data synchronised across both systems.
The Summer ’06 release marks the 20th edition of Salesforce’s
CRM product as the company seeks to capitalise on increased
interest in on-demand services. The firm has seen revenues grow 77%
between 2004 and 2005, while in February, it posted record
fourth-quarter revenues.
