A study by Aladdin Knowledge Systems has suggested a
dramatic increase in the number of dangerous spyware and Trojan
threats lurking on the Web.
According to Aladdin’s “eSafe CSRT 2005 Malicious Code Report”, the
number of malicious threats from spyware grew from 1,083 in 2004 to
3,389 in 2005, an increase of more than 213%.
In addition, there was a 142% increase in the number of Trojans
from 1,455 in 2004 to 3,521 in 2005, and a 56% increase in viruses
and other threats such as email worms and file infectors defined as
self-replicating/propagating malicious applications.
That’s enough figures saying there are lots of threats out
there. We all know that - what’s needed is progress, and solutions
- not more studies!
