The UK Computer Measurement Group’s annual conference will take place from 26 to 28 June at the Chesford Grange Hotel, Warwick.

The event, in the UKCMG’s 21st anniversary year, will also be marked with social events such as a Highwayman’s Supper in the Great Hall at Warwick Castle.

“Capacity management has taken centre stage in the business arena as companies strive for fast and responsive computer systems to keep them efficient and competitive,” said UKCMG chairman Graham Prentice of insurance company Friends Provident.

“Companies looking to reduce costs or improve cost effectiveness by consolidation of servers are recognising the need to properly capacity plan and performance manage their key web-based infrastructure and systems,” he added.

Speakers at the conference will include Prentice on capacity managing SOAs; Tony Ruberry of John Lewis on zOS performance tuning; Tony Oliver of RWEnpower on meeting business objectives through managed infrastructure; and Severn Trent Water’s David Hawkin on workload analysis.
