There is only a fortnight to go until this year’s
Intellect IT Industry Charity Ball, which takes place on Tuesday 27
June.
The event, which is supported by Computer Weekly and the
Worshipful Company of Information Technologists, aims to surpass
the £70,000 it raised for the Starlight charity last year.
Several hundred IT professionals from all areas of the industry
will take part in an evening themed “A Night in Atlantis” that
includes dinner, entertainment and a charity auction. Items up for
grabs will include a day’s clay pigeon shooting with Vinnie Jones
and a three-night holiday in Barbados.
The main beneficiary this year is the YouthNet charity. Proceeds
from the ball will help fund the expansion of YouthNet’s online
service, which provides youngsters with confidential advice on a
wide range of subjects.
This year’s event sponsors are Cable & Wireless, Cerillion,
DCS Automotive, Deloitte, EDS, Intel, Symantec and Xerox Global
Services.
