Breakfast cereal maker Weetabix is implementing a demand
planning application from TXT e-solutions to improve the
information flow for its supply chain.
The software, which is due to go live in June, use statistical
algorithms and sales histories to forecast demand levels.
According to Jeff Seagrave, head of forecasting at Weetabix,
both retailers and manufacturers benefit from increased
collaboration. He said TXT e-solutions' software, once implemented,
would enable the company to understand sales promotions.
"Demand and promotion planning tools ensure that budgets are
achieved and shelves remain stocked," said Seagrave.
The team of Weetabix demand planners will work with marketing
and production to determine how much cereal to produce at the
company's principal manufacturing plant.
TXT e-solutions develops supply chain management software for
users in fashion, food and beverage, fast moving consumer goods,
retail, discrete manufacturing and utilities and services.
