Advanced Digital Information Corporation (ADIC), a
provider of storage products for the open systems market, has
expanded the maximum capacity of its Pathlight VX 650 enterprise
disk backup product by more than 50% and added support for the new
Scalar i500 intelligent mid-range tape library.
With the capacity of its Pathlight VX 650 now offering up to
71.5Tbytes of usable storage, ADIC believes that enterprise IT
departments will be able to back up and retain more of their data
on a single disk backup resource to facilitate rapid file
restores.
The expanded library support also allows end-users to build
integrated disk-tape backup environments that take advantage of
ADIC's new mid-range, rack-mountable Scalar i500 tape library
platform.
"Enterprise IT managers continue to struggle with the job of
providing data protection in the face of rapid data growth," says
Steve Mackey, EMEA product director at ADIC.
"We know that the optimal solution for different data sets is
disk, tape, or a combination of the two technologies, which is why
ADIC continues to expand its backup solution options. Greater disk
capacity lets users grow their disk tier to handle more data for
increased performance and fault tolerance, while new library
platform support allows them to expand their overall backup system
flexibly and to better manage their ongoing costs.”
