London legal practice Charles Russell is deploying PortWise's IAM software to secure the delivery of applications to employees, clients and selected external partners.

The law firm, which has offices in London, Cheltenham, Guildford and Oxford, said it needed to replace its previous fragmented identity and access management strategy, which differed for each application it used. It also needed to provide a secure means of accessing confidential data for the disparate communities of clients using dealer and data rooms.

Charles Russell said it chose the PortWise IAM system because of its two-factor authentication functions and ability to scale as the business extranet grew.

PortWise specialises in identity and access management. Its software platform enables users to remotely access corporate information and applications.

The software uses a secure gateway so that applications and data can be accessed through the web by a range of computing devices.

PortWise IAM will give users access to the legal firm's Citrix system. The supplier also integrated IAM into the Hummingbird enterprise collaboration suite used by Charles Russell.
