Borland Software has acquired Legadero to improve its
software development offering to customers.
The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, will see Borland gain a
set of IT project management tools for improving the control of
software development projects.
More structured development is the key target when using the
tools, and better communication between programmers and system
administrators as a result.
The Legadero software provides tools for viewing the status of
software development projects, as well as prioritising tasks and
managing requests for project changes.
The Legadero products will be re-branded as Borland Tempo and
will be integrated with Borland’s existing range of application
lifecycle tools.
Borland’s main competitors in the application lifecycle tools
market are IBM and Microsoft.
