Next week Computer Weekly will reveal the IT departments
shortlisted for the Best Places to Work in IT Awards 2005 – the
only UK awards dedicated to highlighting and rewarding employment
best practice in the IT industry.
All the IT departments that have made it onto the Best Places
shortlist have demonstrated their leadership in creating
stimulating working environments, projects, training and benefits
packages which attract and retain staff.
Many of these initiatives will be reported by Computer Weekly
over the coming weeks, to share employment best practice and
outline ways in which departments can improve staff retention and
provide productivity benefits to the business.
Computer Weekly launched the Best Places to Work in IT Awards in
2003. More than 180 IT professionals gathered at the first awards
ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the UK’s top IT
departments.
Entries for this year’s awards were of a very high standard,
making competition particularly tough. The core judging criteria
were positive working environment, continued professional
development, evidence of work/life balance, and equal
opportunities.
The winners of the Best Places to Work in IT Awards will be
announced at a gala lunch at The Park Lane Hotel, London on 2
March. Places are limited, so to secure your table contact Teresa
