The size and cost of an ERP project, combined with its potential to
create organisational mayhem, have played a part in the demise of
some businesses. Electrical distributer, Hagemeyer took a big bang
approach that appears to have paid off.
Late August 2002 marked the end of the first phase of a new
business and IT strategy for Hagemeyer when the company went live
with the main UK implementation of Movex, an ERP solution from
Swedish company Intentia. This is the first step in the global
rollout of the system to include the US and Australia over the next
two years.
