Friday 28 June saw the very first edition of it-vision, the free,
live webcast for the IT industry produced by gbtv in association
with Computer Weekly.
If you didn't manage to see it, don't worry; we'll be broadcasting
continuous re-runs right up until the next edition - the date of
which will be announced soon.
Chaired by
Computer Weekly editor Karl Schneider,
it-vision featured three main panel debates; each of them
discussed by key industry figures. Throughout each discussion
(approximately 25 minutes in duration), e-mails from viewers were
received and incorporated into the debates as they happened.
First up was the issue of
Outsourcing. Contributing to the
discussion was Adriaan Serfontein, (Posetiv Ltd.), Nick Drabble,
(Tivoli Ltd.) and David Rippon, (Pragmatic Services Ltd., Elite)
On the subject of
Security we heard from Phil Naybour,
(Thales e-Security), Jeremy Butt, (Watchguard Technologies Inc.),
Adam McElroy, (Hewlett-Packard) and David Taylor, (Certus).
Data Storage was the topic of the third debate. Here we heard
from Clive Hyland, (PinkRoccade), Paul Bingham, (Atos Origin UK
Ltd.), David Taylor, (Certus), David Rippon, (Pragmatic Services
Ltd., Elite) and Philip Ross, (Professional Contractors
Group).
As you can imagine, all this made for some pretty heated debate.
And talking of heat,
it-vision also gives you chance to
catch up on what's hot from companies like PinkRoccade, Watchguard
Technologies, TAH Ltd.,
Thales e-Security and Atos Origin Ltd.
As we said before, if you didn't get to see
it-vision live,

July issue of Computer Weekly. And to make the issue boiling hot
there's an opportunity to win a DVD player sponsored by Atos Origin
Ltd - entry available via CD-Rom only.
