A Munich court had issued the restraining order after software company, Crayon Vertriebs, accused SuSE Linux of infringing on its copyright by including a link to a graphics program called "Krayon" in the Linux software. New wholesale shipments were halted on Monday (7 January), although copies already in distribution were still available for sale.
Krayon, originally part of the KOffice desktop interface suite created by open source developers' group KDE and included with many Linux packages, was never part of SuSE Linux 7.3, SuSE said in a statement, but a menu link pointing to Krayon was left over from earlier versions.

The two parties reached an out-of-court agreement and Crayon agreed to lift the shipment ban, the companies said. They declined to give further details, but noted that SuSE will not pay any licence fees.
"Our effort was to avoid a dilution of our brand-name rights," said Crayon in a statement.
