Dublin-based HRM Contract Resources, a specialist business
division of the HRM Recruitment Group, has launched a comprehensive
package of financial benefits for contractors working in the
Emerald Isle.
The deal, offered in partnership with financial advisors,
Slattery Jermyn, has been designed to match the types of benefits
usually enjoyed by permanent employees, such as security and
continuity, but with greater flexibility, according to the
company.
As part of the service, contractors can access pensions from
Scottish Provident, leasing services through the Bank of Scotland,
life assurance provided by Irish Life, and personal banking with
AIB Bank.
"This is a significant development for professionals who enjoy
the flexibility of contract working, yet who seek the reassurance
of a benefits package that is comparable to that of a permanent
employee," comments Steve Green, general manager of the contract
division. "Furthermore, because the package has been specially
negotiated by us, contractors can enjoy significant cost reductions
of up to 75 per cent."
Ireland, said to be the largest producer of IT software outside
the US, is expanding rapidly and boasts a booming economy and high
demand for quality contractors. "The market is still quite
conservative but it's evolving and there are definitely not enough
hardcore contractors to go around," says Green. "ITers with solid
skills and commercial experience, particularly in the e-commerce
sector, are finding plenty of opportunities here."
While admitting that Ireland is "not the cheapest place in the
world to live", Green says contractors are earning good rates there
and hopes that benefits packages, such as the one designed by HRM,
will compensate for any tax burdens they might face.
The HRM Recruitment Group has offices in Dublin, Cork and
Limerick.
