Advertisers wanting to target different TV cable franchises can
now call up their details on a graphical basis by visiting the
Web site of cable giant NTL.
Geographical information systems (GIS) company Kingswood
developed the site, based on software from supplier Geoconcept.
The GIS is based on GeoXplorer, an ActiveX component that allows
developers to build mapping functionality into their
applications.
It is supplied along with the GeoConcept GIS software. It
enables visitors to the site to pan and zoom around a map of the
UK, finding specific locations, a particular place name or even a
postcode.
It includes street-level map displays that were created with
Andes Travelmanager, a raster data set provided by Kingswood.
