NEC has launched a product designed to tackle spam phone calls targeting voice over IP systems.

VoIP Seal blocks calls arising from spam-generating software, separating them from calls made by real individuals using a Turing test.

The system blocks spam calls based on the pattern observed during a call and prevents the user's phone from ringing as a result of spam. The product will be demonstrated this month at the 3GSM show in Barcelona.
