Companies that use dial-in conference call facilities are unsure whether such systems are secure.
A survey conducted among 150 senior IT professionals by Survey.com, on behalf of Ring2 Conferencing, found that basic dial-in conference calling services dominate the business market.
The survey found that 84% of respondents said they still rely on these services because they are so simple and reliable.
However, despite their simplicity and reliability, executives are frustrated at not knowing who is actually on their conference calls.
While 88% of survey participants said that conference call security was important, 53% admitted they often have no idea who has joined their calls and who is missing.
This can be a major security concern for market-sensitive business calls.
