The company said the new version provides a unified environment for enterprise planning, reporting and analysis with integration and navigation across applications. Uses include financial control and regulatory compliance, Hyperion said.
The product was unveiled at Solutions 2005, Hyperion’s global Business Performance Management conference, which took place in New Orleans last week.
Applications Suite 4 offers a common look and feel, common reporting and analysis tools, and a single point of maintenance and administration that decreases training costs, increases user adoption and promotes line manager participation, Hyperion said. T
he software uses a task-oriented user interface and Hyperion’s Smart View for Office, which uses the Microsoft Office environment. This provides a single Excel spreadsheet front-end that can be used to read, write and interact with multiple Hyperion products via Smart Tag features within Microsoft Office. This enables integration with other Microsoft Office applications such as Word.
Hyperion said Smart View also offers the flexibility to plan offline, allowing users to download a planning form, develop budgets in Excel, and then synchronise when reconnected.
