Castle Point Council in Essex has awarded a five-year £5m IT outsourcing contract to Steria.

Castle Point Council in Essex has awarded a five-year £5m IT outsourcing contract to Steria.

As well as providing an off-site datacentre and managing related services, a key element of the contract is Steria's Intelligent Service Desk.

The desk will provide a single point of contact with Steria for council employees, managing all technical enquiries and delivering desktop support and training.

John Hunter, head of strategic policy and performance at the council, said, "By becoming a strategic partner of the council and taking ownership of and operating all the council's ICT services, Steria will help us deliver the best possible services to the citizens of Castle Point."
