Oracle, SAP and Siebel have joined EDS’s solutions design partnership.

Oracle, SAP and Siebel have joined EDS’s solutions design partnership.

The three software suppliers have joined the EDS Agility Alliance, a federation of global technology companies assembled to design, develop and deliver EDS solutions built around the EDS Agile Enterprise Platform standard.

Oracle, SAP and Siebel have joined Cisco, Dell, EMC, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems and Xerox in the programme.

Michael Jordan, EDS chief executive officer, said, "The EDS Agility Alliance is clearly establishing a new benchmark for IT service delivery to customers around the world."

Alliance partners are currently implementing an application modernisation and integration project for the UK Armed Forces Personnel Administration Agency (AFPAA).

Oracle is helping EDS replace a number of the agency's outdated systems that support more than 600,000 active and inactive military personnel.

"This Ministry of Defence initiative exemplifies the power of multilateral co-operation as part of the EDS Agility Alliance," said Charles Rozwat, Oracle executive vice-president of development, server technologies.

To support the Alliance’s work EDS has just opened a development centre at its Texas headquarters.
