IT contractors operating their own businesses are being invited to list their companies, free of charge, on a web-based directory service called 'ask bob'.

The site, which was launched earlier this month, aims to promote 'genuine' small and medium sized businesses throughout the UK, and has been designed to resemble an 'easy-to-use' yellow pages.

Ask bob's creator, Martin Green, believes the site will remove any frustrations felt by internet users who complain that search engines produce too broad a set of results when asked to find a particular 'type of company'.

Initial listing in the directory is free, however users will have to pay for any other links or advertising they wish to set up on the ask bob site. For further information, visit www.askbob.co.uk.
