SourceLabs automates support for open source

Antony Savvas

SourceLabs is building an automated technical help system for companies adopting open source products.

The SourceLabs Continuous Support System is designed to sort out potential problems around the use of open source Java middleware.

SourceLabs provides testing and certification services to businesses that use open source software, and its products focus on open source Java development software, Linux, the MySQL database and the Apache web server.

The SourceLabs Continuous Support System will diagnose problems and automatically notify customers and SourceLabs about difficulties, speeding up the resolution process.

SourceLabs is currently compiling a database of known technical glitches and security issues from information supplied by customers and other public sources.

The online support will come as part of a subscription-based contract.
