Novell has launched the SuSE Linux 10.1 Linux operating system with improved graphics, search and security features.

Novell has launched the SuSE Linux 10.1 Linux operating system with improved graphics, search and security features.

SuSE Linux 10.1 includes the latest OpenOffice.org office productivity suite, the Firefox web browser, the GAIM instant messaging client, multimedia tools and graphics software. It also offers new open source tools for developing applications, setting up a home network and running a web server, as well as virtualisation and clustering software.

The new OS is intended for end-users and testers in enterprise environments. It is available as a free download or in a £35 retail edition that provides a user manual and 90 days' installation support.
