CA almost doubles profits

Antony Savvas

CA almost doubled its third quarter net profit, as the new management team continues to make structural changes to the group.

CA’s sales for the quarter ending 31 December was $967m (£569m), up 5% on the same quarter last year.

The company’s net profit for the quarter was $56m, up from the $31m made during the same quarter the previous year.

New chief executive officer John Swainson said CA continued to make “enhancements” to its business strategy in the third quarter.

CA recently revamped its sales management in a number of countries, including in the UK.

Swainson was brought in after CA was engulfed in an accounting scandal 18 months ago. This led to members of the company’s senior management leaving the organisation, with some now facing fraud charges.
