HP to support complete open source JBoss range

HP is to now support the entire range of the JBoss open source middleware product range.

HP previously re-sold and supported JBoss’s Application Server but will now expand its offering to resell and support the complete JBoss Enterprise Middleware Suite (JEMS).

HP will support all JEMS products on the Linux and Windows operating systems, and also the HP version of Unix (HP-UX 11i).

Linux support will be offered to the main versions from Red Hat and Novell.

The move is expected to be a major boost to JBoss, as users see a company of HP’s size and stature fully adopting an open source middleware platform.

JEMS includes JBoss Application Server, JBoss Portal and JBoss Cache, among other middleware solutions. JEMS competes against solutions from the likes of IBM, BEA Systems and Oracle.
