Fujitsu Computer Systems has unveiled blade and rack servers powered by dual-core Opteron processors from AMD.
The Primergy BX630 blade server and the Primergy RX220 rack server are being pitched as energy-efficient models for data centres, as well as providing greater data processing power by using the dual-core chip system.
Dual-core processors have two processing engines on a single piece of silicon to boost data processing performance. Intel recently launched its first dual-core chip range for servers.
The BX630 blade server starts at £1,400, the RX220 rack server at £1,000.
