Lexmark marks out SMB arena

In a bid to boost its offerings for small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), Lexmark International has introduced a new all-in-one printer and has restructured its SMB sales team.

The Lexmark X7350 Complete Business Solution offers photo capabilities along with the ability to print, scan, copy and fax at business-class speeds, as well as manage and share colour documents and photos. Users can print directly from their PC or a PictBridge-compatible digital camera.

"[SMBs] are the ultimate multi-taskers, and they need printers as versatile and hard-working as they are," says Najib Bahous, Lexmark vice-president and president of its Consumer Printer Division.

The X7350 is a compact design, delivering speeds of up to 25ppm black and 19ppm colour. It has an automatic document feeder that can handle up to 50 pages for hands-free faxing and copying. It comes with Lexmark's Productivity Suite software, which allows users to manage a variety of different print and electronic document formats, including creating and searching PDFs and scanning printed documents into editable text.

The printer is network capable, with optional Ethernet and wireless network adapters. Available from mid-April, the X7350 costs £149.99.

The restructuring of Lexmark’s SMB sales team is intended to better meet the needs of distributor partners. The company has enhanced its support for Midwich, Ingram Micro, Micro P and Northamber, its four domestic distributors, and it will also continue investment in its Lexmark specialists at each of its distributor partners.
