QLogic SANblade maintains the pace

QLogic shipped a market leading 46.1% of fibre channel host bus adapter ports in 2005, compared to 40% for its nearest competitor, according to the Quarterly San Report from analyst firm the Dell'Oro Group.

The company was also the revenue leader in 2005 with 43.5% market share, compared to 42.4% for its closest rival. The report noted that embedded host bus adapter products for blade servers, a leadership category for QLogic, were not included in this year's report.

Roger Klein, vice-president of marketing at QLogic, says, "Many San administrators have standardised on QLogic 2Gbyte HBAs on servers from Dell, HP, IBM and Sun and we have picked up great momentum in 4Gbyte deployments with OEMs, channel partners and Global 2000 businesses."
