Red Label offers Linux managed hosting on Dell hardware and includes key services designed to keep complex J2EE and Lamp applications running at their best. It combines solutions from Dell, Novell, Red Hat, Nimsoft and Mercury Interactive.

Features include in-depth performance monitoring, automated patching with roll-back and support for application infrastructure components such as Oracle, JBoss, MySQL and Apache.

The service aims to meet user demand for comprehensive management, monitoring and security services in a Linux environment, the company said.

Rackspace, which already has more than 4,500 Linux configurations, said the new service would also offer businesses migrating from Sun to Linux stability, security and lower costs.
