Arrest follows Ericsson hacking

Antony Savvas

Swedish authorities have charged a Hungarian man for hacking into the intranets of Ericsson and Sony Ericsson.

The man has admitted breaking into the systems and has allegedly told prosecutors that he wanted to show off his IT skills in an attempt to get a job at the Swedish mobile supplier.

The man is charged with handling secret information without permission and illegally accessing computer systems.

It is alleged that he tried to sell some of the information he obtained by hacking on the internet. The trial is due to take place next week.
