NetSec announces new technical boss

NetSec has appointed John Robson as UK technical director.

Robson brings over 20 years’ experience in the IT and managed services sectors in senior positions on both sides of the Atlantic. Most recently, he was chief technology officer for Liberata, a business process outsourcing company, and he has also held senior positions at Firefox, FTP Software, Vital Online and NetManage.

Robson is responsible for service delivery of NetSec’s managed and professional services in the UK, with immediate effect.

Glenn Hazard, CEO and founder of NetSec, said, “John’s experience within the managed services sector is a great asset to the NetSec team. By maintaining close working relationships with clients and partners, he will ensure that NetSec continues to build on the robust managed security services for new and existing blue-chip companies and government departments.”

Robson says that NetSec offers highly specialised and dynamic services which are getting harder to replicate and resource by firms internally. He believes that NetSec is in a very strong position to take advantage of the growing trend to outsource managed security services.

Telecoms giant MCI recently announced that it would be acquiring NetSec for $105m (£56m).
